Enormous drug bust in Budapest – VIDEO
The police busted an enormous stash of drugs worth a quarter billion forints (almost 700 thousand euros) in Budapest. Two of the three dealers have been detained; their third accomplice is still on the loose.
January has been quite the month in Hungary regarding successful drug busts. After the country’s largest drug smuggling case only a week ago, here is probably the most expensive cargo that has ever been discovered by the Hungarian police.
The National Bureau of Investigation is currently conducting an investigation against the 36-year-old Krisztián K. and the 37-years-old Sándor S. for dealing with a significant amount of narcotics, writes police.hu.
The two dealers were busted while transferring the drugs hidden in huge sports bags from one car to another, in the underground garage of a residential building in District 13.
At first, the police found 22 kg of marijuana in 44 little half-a-kilogram packets, followed by the huge stash of 59 kg from the same substance, accompanied by 220 g of cocaine and also 2 weapons,

Furthermore, from the two men together, the investigators confiscated around 66 thousand euros.
The total black market value of all the drugs confiscated almost reaches 700 thousand euros (250 million forints). This is one of the biggest drug busts of the past years.
According to the police, the delivery of the narcotics was supervised by the transfer’s organiser from a safe distance, by a 33-year-old man who managed to escape. In order to capture him, the National Bureau of Investigation asked for the help of TEK (Counter-Terrorism Centre), and they created a police unit on January 29 to execute the mission.
The man, who is still wanted, left the car with which he tried to escape behind. It was later found by the police. An arrest warrant was issued by the police.
His two accomplices were interrogated and detained as suspects; the arrest of Sándor S. was requested together with the police supervision of Krisztián K.
